About the book

Before Bitcoin, digital free markets or the global conversation about technological sovereignty existed, A Lodging of Wayfaring Men anticipated —with startling precision— the emergence of parallel networks beyond the reach of traditional governments.

In this provocative novel, Paul Rosenberg weaves together science, philosophy, cryptography and politics to follow a handful of characters —scientists, hackers, journalists, investors— who step away from the institutions of the official world and begin to build their own. What they discover is not just a new way of thinking, but a new way of existing: free, voluntary and encrypted.

Midway between a novel of ideas and a visionary warning, this work reads as a covert treatise on individual sovereignty, free markets and peaceful resistance to centralized power.
